Dubai is located in between the Emirates of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah and is divided in the middle by a creek which runs through the centre of the old part of town. The creek is one of the lifeblood and major landmark of Dubai. The areas surrounding the Creek are mostly populated urban area. Likewise, The major centre of Dubai is the Shaikh Zayed Road, which runs through the heart of the city’s financial district and stretches through the next town of Jebel Ali.

The official religion is Islam. But other faiths are accepted and freedom of worship privately is given. There are Churches for different religions all over Dubai and other Emirates.
Dubai has a year round sunny climate with rain a rare occurrence, happening only a few times a year. Winter months – December until March; Spring months – End of March until June; Summer months – End of June until September; Autumn months – End of September until November. Average temperature of 26°C and can reach the hottest of 50°C high during summer time. During winter, temperature average of 15°C at night.
The most common means of transportation in Dubai are by car, bus, taxi and abra (boat). Transit System is currently being built in Dubai and is expected to be completed in 2009.
